Area of a circle sector
A circle sector is bounded by an arc between two points A and B on the circumference and two radii drawn from the ends of the arc (points A and B) to the center of the circle. Two radii divide the entire circle area into 2 sectors if the angle between the radii is straight (180 degrees), then these sectors will be equal. The area of a circle sector – is part S of the entire flat figure bounded by the circumference with radius r.
The area of a circle is equal to the product of the square of the radius and the number «pi».
The sector area can be expressed by the formula S = π x r² x α/360. Alternatively, when specifying the sector angle α not in degrees, but in radians, S = (α/2) x r². The calculation of the area of a circle sector can also be performed using another formula through the sector arc length.
The section presents three options for online calculator formulas. Design department employees, as well as students learning the basics of complex equipment design in universities, can choose any of them at their discretion.
