Interactive Ratio Table px, pt, em %
Online calculator for converting pt px em %.
Pixels (px): «px» have fixed unit sizes used on screens (for example, for reading on a computer screen). One pixel is equal to one dot on a computer screen (the smallest element of your screen's resolution). One of the problems with using px is that these units do not allow scaling for visually impaired readers or mobile devices.
Points (pt): «pt», traditionally used in print media. One «pt» is equal to 1 / 72 inches. «pt», just like «px», have a fixed size.
«Ems» (em) : «em» — is a scalable unit used in web documents. «em» is equal to the current font-size, for example, if font-size in the document 12pt, 1em equals 12pt. «em» is scalable by nature, so 2em will equal 24pt, 0.5em will equal 6pt and so on.
Percents (%): Units of measurement in % similar to «em», with a few fundamental differences. First, the current font-size equals 100% (i.e. 12pt = 100%). When using "%", your text becomes fully scalable for mobile devices and user convenience (accessibility).
