Midpoint of segment

Segment – part of a line (or a set of points located on one line), bounded by two points with specific parameters in a two-dimensional coordinate system.

That is, the segment AB has coordinates:
• A (x1; y1);
• B (x2;y2).

Coordinates of the midpoint of the segment – point (C) – are calculated using the formula: sum of the abscissas (X1+X2) and ordinates (Y1 + Y2) of points A and B, divided by two. Accordingly, in a three-dimensional system, the coordinates of the axis are added (Z).

Finding the midpoint of a segment is very important for solving geometric problems and proving theorems. To avoid calculating data using formulas to determine the midpoint of a segment, it's easier to use an online calculator. Enter the data in the corresponding fields X, Y, Z and calculate the coordinates of the point, which is the midpoint of the segment, located on the plane or in three-dimensional space.
