Wire weight

To calculate the weight of the wire, you can use a calculator where formulas and correct parameters are entered. But you can also perform all necessary operations yourself, although this will require a bit of time and patience.

Calculation of wire mass

Wire diameter, mm Weight of 1 m of wire, kg Length of wire in a coil/coil, m Weight of wire in a coil/coil, kg

Formula for calculating the weight of the wire

Formula for calculating the weight of the wire
Where:
m – calculated weight of 1 meter;
P – constant (3,14);
D – diameter;
G – material density, the following parameters are taken:
Steel – 7850;
Copper – 8890;
Aluminum – 2703.
The material density can be found in standards.

Also for copper and aluminum alloys you can use the following formula:

Formula for calculating the weight of wire for aluminum alloys
Where:
M – weight of 1m copper and aluminum;
MS – weight of 1m steel product;
Q – density (aluminum – 2703, copper - 8890),
QWith – steel density (7850).
