Calculation of radiator sections

Radiator sections are the smallest structural element contained in a radiator battery.

Type of radiator
Power of 1 section (W)
Room length
Room width
Ceiling height
Type of glazing
Number of external walls
Wall insulation
Minimum outside temperature
Type of room above the calculated

To calculate the required number of radiator sections to heat a certain room, use the following formula:

N = S/t*100*w*h*r

• S denotes the area of the room;
• t – heat required to warm the room;
• w – window coefficient (in case of ordinary glazing – 1.1, double -1);
• h – ceiling level ( coefficient 1, if ceilings up to 2.7 m; 1,1 – within 2.7 to 3.5 m);
• r – room placement – corner or not.
