Pipe mass
For self-calculating the weight of the pipe, you should use the formula: m=p*V
Where:
p – is the pipe density and depends on the material used;
V – volume of the pipe material.
p – is the pipe density and depends on the material used;
V – volume of the pipe material.
To find out the density, you need to use reference tables.
To find out V, you need to use the formula: V=S*L
Where:
S – is the cross-sectional area;
L – pipe length.
To find out S, the following formula is used: S=π/4(D^2-d^2)
Where:
D – outer diameter;
d – inner diameter.
To find d, the formula is used: d=D-2b
Where:
b – is the wall thickness.
Using these formulas, you can calculate the weight of the pipe.
