Nonlinear equations

This calculator is designed to solve nonlinear equations online. A nonlinear equation in general form looks as follows: f(x)=0, where f(x)-continuous function of the argument x. Nonlinear equations can be of two types: algebraic and transcendental. If the function is algebraic, then such an equation is called algebraic. A transcendental equation – is an equation in which the function contains non-algebraic functions (logarithmic, trigonometric, exponential, etc.).

Methods for solving nonlinear equations can be divided into two types: direct and iterative. In the direct method of solving nonlinear equations, there is a possibility of writing the solution in the form of a certain formula. Using this formula, the roots of the equation can be determined with a limited number of arithmetic operations. However, most nonlinear equations cannot be solved by the direct method. Iterative methods imply obtaining an approximate value of the roots of equations with any given accuracy.
To find the solution of a nonlinear equation, enter the initial data in the corresponding calculator cells.

Enter the initial point:

x0=

Enter the accuracy:

ε =

Enter the left side of the equation (unknown - x):

f(x) =
